The Working Mom

It’s always weird having to describe oneself, but it’s inevitable. Sometimes, you really just have to do it, like right now.

I’m Joiada Cañeza-Cruzate, a full-time writer-mom who works hard to keep the balance between being a mother, a wife, and a workhorse. I gave birth to my son Seltiel Jaime on October of 2010, at the age of 22. I may have joined motherhood gang at a young age, but I’m loving every moment of it.

And oh, I prefer to be called Jaedhie, or just JD, and almost everyone calls me by that name. I’d love it if you would, too!

My Professional Background

I am currently working as a Website Content Writer / Editor for a design and online marketing outsourcing company based in Manila, Philippines. As one, I primarily write new or additional content for clients’ websites and web pages that assist their online marketing sales and efforts. I also write press releases and meta tags to boost clients’ website traffic and search engine rankings. As an editor, I proofread and edit press releases created by other writers in our team.

A holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, I spent over a year working for a local magazine for teachers after finishing my degree. During my stint in the publication industry (2009-2010), I tried my hand at SEO and web content writing through accepting part-time projects from several freelance employers. After giving birth to my son, I assumed a full-time position as an online article writer for a local SEO company before the end of 2010. In 2011, I landed a job as a content writer for HUA Marketing, another online marketing company.

Since the beginning of my career as a writer, I have been working on assignments with varying topics and focuses – from health-related subjects up to hip hop music news. All in all, I have about three years of professional experience in website content writing, add to that a year of experience in the publication industry.

On a Personal Note...

When not at work, this young mother loves playing and bonding with the toddler son. Together with my husband, I’m also currently into dog breeding, while still taking on freelance writing tasks. I adore reading novels of authors such as Gabriel Garcia-Marquez and Neil Gaiman, among many others. Meanwhile, my rock-songs-filled-iPod serves as my faithful companion through hours of writing and editing.
